Job Description
The Diagnostic Sonographer I performs standardized and complex ultrasound examinations for the diagnosis and monitoring of disease and pathology. Responsibilities include preparing patients, reviewing medical history, explaining procedures, obtaining high-quality diagnostic ultrasound images, identifying abnormal findings, assisting with diagnosis, clinical intervention and patient management, and supporting Radiologists, Cardiologists, Perinatologists and other medical staff during specialized procedures. Requires completion of an accredited ultrasound program or Diagnostic Sonography certification, active or eligible registration with Sonography Canada, ACMDTT and/or ARDMS, and current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). Hospital and pediatric experience preferred. Temporary full-time position at Chinook Regional Hospital, Lethbridge.
